Last week Adriana recommended in her post 6 tips to improve the air in your home, some interesting and easy changes to make, among them she mentioned having plants. To further develop that point, today I share 10 beneficial plants to have in the house to decontaminate the air. The material I then received through a resend by email and I found it perfect to complement the issue of having a healthier home.

The plants are a beautiful decoration accessory for the house, in addition to providing color, they give life to any environment. But in addition to giving us their beauty, they give us interesting benefits for our health, which should be taken into account.

According to the United States Environment Agency (EPA), house air can be up to 10 times more polluted than outdoor air. This is due to lack of ventilation, certain building materials, cleaning products, air fresheners, insecticides, tobacco and some appliances.
If you are interested in maintaining a healthy environment in your home there are practical and beautiful ways to decontaminate it; Plants are an easy and natural solution to clean indoor air and reduce headaches, avoid lung damage, asthma, red eyes and mild respiratory diseases.

The benefits of having plants at home:

They renew the air: through photosynthesis, plants filter the air and provide oxygen. Although there are some that use the morning sun to perform this process, there are also plants that do it at night, so it is advisable to have different kinds of plants.

Eliminate contaminants: they are a natural solution against pollution, and harmful gases produced by cigarettes, paints, lacquers, etc. On the other hand, plants increase moisture in the air, which helps to have a more hydrated throat and skin.

They clean the dust: They reduce the presence of the dust up to 20% which avoids the sensation of fatigue caused by a charged atmosphere.

What plants to have at home?

Spider Plant: they filter 96% of carbon monoxide, for this reason they are very useful in kitchens, or spaces in which many people gather.
