Home and Cleaning Tips

2020 is ending soon and it is something that most of us are waiting for. It has been a tough year, full of bad news and challenges to face. Although it is most likely that the next one will also be quite complicated, the change brings us some hope and the more we do to feel good, the better. Stress is an enemy that must be eliminated.

Yesterday I was talking to my daughter, and she told me that we should decorate the house and make it very happy. There are always reasons to celebrate and in our case the mere fact that we are well and healthy is more than enough! Our end-of-year meetings are never numerous as we do not have an extended family, only our children, my husband and myself. However, I understand that for many the big parties this year will not be an option, since we have a great responsibility to take care of each other. Anyway, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a good time.

Decorating the house is also a good opportunity to clean and get rid of what is no longer useful and is taking up space and stagnating energy. In addition, we can also take the opportunity to separate what we no longer use but that still has a useful life, to donate. That is why I thought about sharing some of the activities that we are going to do this year to celebrate and motivate ourselves for this season.

Ideas to organize and decorate the house for the Holidays

Throw away everything that is useless

They say that what is no longer used or does not work, whether because it is broken, expired or some other reason, generates negative or stagnant energy. In other words, an energy that does not flow naturally. That is why it is always recommended to get rid of everything that is no longer useful. Old and torn clothes, toys, kitchen appliances, appliances, etc. Take advantage of the season in which we are more time at home without being able to go out and do a deep cleaning to start the new year with a cleaner home energy. I also assure you that you will feel very good doing it. At least to me generally throwing old things gives me a lot of satisfaction.

Donate clothes, toys and decorations

When we clean, looking for everything that does not serve to separate it, it is very likely that we will find things that are in good condition but that we no longer use. It even happens to me to find new things that have never been used, especially with clothes and things of the boys, since they grow very fast. I usually separate these things into bags or boxes that I will donate later. Living in NJ, I found New Jersey Transport inc Moving Company. They have everything you need to help you move boxes and bags, from packing, moving, and storage solutions. They are an excellent option when moving, placing old boxes and items into storage, etc. You can see their services for packing and crating, here: Packing and crating services in NJ.

Decorate by recycling and without spending a lot of money

When we are doing cleaning of old and unused things, we will find that some can be used to become decorations for the house. Recycling and turning something old in disuse into something new is wonderful. For example, we can separate old clothes to make decorations for the Christmas tree, garlands, even some pieces of decoration for the exterior of the house. It is a matter of using imagination and creativity, and on the internet we can find a million ideas.

Cooking with the family

One of my favorite activities for the holiday season is cooking. I enjoy spending time in the kitchen so much, creating treats for the family that I know will make them happy. But since I usually prepare everything and now that my children are older, I assign them some homework so that they can collaborate and even some complete recipe for them to make. In this way we also share time together, creating, learning and always listening to music together. It is fun.

Gift alternatives

Another thing that I always like to do, and this year with more reason than to take care of money, is to make my own gifts. I like to spoil my friends and family with a gift, which may not be super big, but which was made with time and love, thinking of them. Sometimes I make something to eat, like cookies, muffins, or other kinds of sweets. I also like to make paintings, either of a special photo and frame it, or a somewhat more artistic painting. The point is to look for ideas and get active. It is something that brings happiness to all parties involved.

Follow all care protocols

Finally, my dear friends, one of the most important things we can give away this year is caring. Staff and others, respecting all security protocols. Using masks, reducing our outings and contacts with others as much as we can. The more we take care of ourselves, the faster we will get out of this nightmare and return to normalcy, if something like that is possible.

Take care and ejoy.

Happy Holidays!
