As the road is not straight, it is full of ups and downs, adventures, wild explorations, obstacles, sadness and also a lot of fun. Everyone and without exception at some point, have to lose ourselves. It is part of learning and sometimes the best way to strengthen ourselves. Nature does not like straight paths, indeed, it hates them.

At different stages in my life, I have felt cornered and with no way out. It is a horrible and desperate feeling. It generates unlimited stress, a lot of anxiety and other amount of emotions that only unbalance us and cloud our vision more. During those moments there are things that have helped me a lot, and some of them are:

Perspective: Observing from a Distance

The first step is to distance yourself from the problem. Achive emotional detachment and observe the situation as if you were an outsider looking in. It is likely that when you observe from another angle, what makes you feel bad will lose its weight, or you will begin to see an alternative way to improve the situation. This is the art of self-observation—a key pillar I often discuss in my explorations at Aurora.

An Ear: You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone

Having someone to talk to is vital. I am very selective when it comes to choosing my confidants. I lean on my family or a close friend who truly understands my journey. Sometimes, professional guidance is necessary, and that is a sign of strength, not weakness. Sharing your burdens helps; you do not have to keep everything inside.

Surround Yourself with Positive Energy

Environment influences your state of mind. Selecting friends is an act of self-love, and if some environments make you feel bad, you have the right to avoid them. Positivizing your space is necessary. Things that help me regain control include: cleaning and tidying the house, dressing as if I were going to a special event even if I’m just staying home, and playing music that elevates my spirit. Lighting scented candles or incense can also serve as a sensory anchor to bring you back to the present.

Activities: Move to Renew

Clear your mind by dancing, singing, walking, or exercising. It is an excellent way to renew the body’s energy and eliminate stored tension. Pair these activities with mindful eating and good rest. Usually, the first thing we do when going through a difficult situation is neglect our nutrition, but remember: your body is your temple. Be kind to it, especially if you are a mother. Good Humor: The Balm for the Soul

Sometimes things are not as complicated as they seem, and putting a bit of humor into your day totally changes your perspective. After a difficult day, there is no better remedy than laughing. Watch a movie that makes you cry with laughter, ideally with your children; their laughter is a balm for the soul.

The Importance of Connection

Making space to share exclusively with other adults you appreciate is essential. I know from experience that organizing this can be tiring, but it is necessary for your long-term well-being. Whether it is a date night or a coffee with a friend, prioritize these connections. You deserve these moments of joy just as much as you deserve your moments of solitude.

That is why, if today you feel without exit, I want to encourage you to take a moment to breathe, relax, and know that as a woman and mother, I have been there. I assure you that if you truly want to find your way out, you will achieve it. Good humor is your best weapon against negative emotions; it is a way of showing that you love yourself and that life is beautiful.
